I wouldn’t. Puryear is a great kid, and an average player that looks really good against below avg teams. He can’t jump at all, and when he gets up against good teams, he gets stuffed. His balhandling kills are not up to guard standards either. I also think after the press caused us problems last night, either Phillips or Harris have to be in the game. CVL is not the answer, and MPJ is not the answer to breaking the press on the Dribble.

Right now, I'm running with

Phillips
Robertson
Barnett
Puryear
Tilmon

When MPJ gets back he replaces Puryear. When Harris is ready he takes over for Phillips.

We dominated the last game obviously, but where we did have some trouble was against their press. If I saw it, then I know other teams did. They will also be longer and more athletic than Wagner.

Robertson is a way better ball handler than I thought he was, but he can't be the only one on the floor. Need a quick guard with good handles to pair with him.

Puryear in that lineup would be the 5th option offensively. That’s a mismatch. And if a team puts a big on Puryear he can step out and hit his 3’s, and MPJ or Barnett would have a huge size mismatch against opposing guards.

Stop the press by keeping the ball in the middle of the court. It doesn’t matter who it is with the ball if they get stuck on the sideline.

I hate when a guard gets stuck in the corner.
