Stoutland to Cristobal was a night and day switch.

Stout was a technician, he wasn't much of a recruiter and didn't need to be. NFL saw that talent and snatched him right up.

Mario was a more personal guy, came through in his elite recruiting prowess. His coaching ability was a step down, as apparent by the eventual demotion with Brent Key's addition(someone Saban has tried to hire every time he needed an OL Coach).

I think Bama's "elite" players on the line have been more consistent in recent years, but the "weak links" are less so.

I think we're still looking for the heir apparent to that 2012 offensive line. There comes a time when things just line up perfectly and that '12 team was the result of perfect alignment.
