Sumlin’s buyout currently sits at $10.4 million, without an offset or stretch provision (meaning he would get it all in one lump sum within 60 days of his dismissal). The contract also has a separate agreement with #YESSIR, LLC, a company Sumlin is the President of. Sumlin’s contract states the school must pay #YESSIR, LLC corporate payments through December 2019.

Any wonder why Sumlin dgaf?

Exactly. That contract was amateur hour leadership on display. Which is why A&M will always underperform & stay in sleep mode. The leadership is incompetent & the cycle repeats when you have their cultish mentality.

No one from the inside has a clue or pedigree.. no one from the outside that is qualified to make intelligent decisions is saddling up with that freak show.

Winners win & losers lose.. TAMU is a loser. Rinse and repeat.

What does this mean? Like this llc is what tamu is making the checks out to, and then buyout would too? So they pay his corporate taxes etc??

I'm not one to advocate for "govt intrusion," but sometimes it's needed. Maybe not the fed govt level, but the ncaa or at least the P5s need to agree to some limitations as things are getting out of control in these contracts. I get salaries, but things like this are a bit much. The ncaa or something needs to protect the chump ADs who have no corporate negotiation experience against some of the best agents in sports.

Education Admins vs slimy Agents...no wonder it's gotten bad. One would think a state school would have more oversight.
