Well, I'm not here to argue. There are coaches who are successful and never played the sport. Some take time to learn.
Frost was a successful player, and studied under some well respected coaches. He played the sport at the highest lvl on both sides of the ball. Kelly even mentored him. So if you want to use an proven coach then put Kelly on the list.
Not sure Kelly would come or if UF would want the baggage but a damned good coach, if he wasn't cheating. I'd consider him but I'd probably cheat if given the chance so take my opinion for what it is.

On another note: There's a thing of beauty going on in the USC vs. Arizona game. This game is taking forever because of penalties and reviews.
7 penalties in the third quarter.

I could care less if they played the sport. BUT they have to have coaching experience. UF is NOT the place to learn. Not with the next hire. Experience must be a prerequisite. And to me that means at least 4/5 years as a HC. Kelly would qualify but him like Petrino or here's another name... Jim Tressel would have to have some stipulations to ensure the program stays clean.
