Every coach we’ve hired that was successful never came from a big time school. Spurrier - Duke Meyer - Utah(wasn’t as big at the time of his hire)

I said that the coach should have experience competing against Big Boy football/Big time schools.

Spurrier was the youngest coach in the pros/USFL. He had a lot of success with the Bandits, where his offense was one of the best in the league. He coached 3 years in that league with pro athletes. He then went to Duke and turned them around. Duke won their first and only conference title. Freaking Duke. His fast break offense revolutionized that school. His very first year he was competing with top schools. They beat several top 25 schools in his tenure, Clemson, UNC, Ga Tech, Wake, NC State. He spent 3 years there. SOS had 6 years coaching before he got to UF. He took 2 teams to success. Duke Played big boy football and he won there. That's proven and that's experience.

Urban Meyer took a bad Bowling Green program and turned them around immediately. He beat Mizzou and Northwestern in his first year and beat Mizzou again and Kansas in his 2nd year. This is what I'm talking about beating P5 teams. He went to Utah and in his first year, turned them around too. Went 10-2, beating Cal, Oregon and BYU that year. The next year he went undefeated while actually playing a big boy football. They beat Texas A&M, BYU, Arizona, North Carolina, and Pittsburgh. They went to a BCS bowl and undefeated season.

For me, a coach should have turned around a couple schools at a minimum or at least 4 or 5 years sustained experience with 1 school. 1, 2, 3 year coaches with 1 schools is a crap shoot IMO. Look at Mac and Champ in their first 2 years? It's pretty easy to look at both their records and think they are quality coaches, when the very next year is when shite started falling apart. Mac and Champ BOTH have a better record than Frost 21 games in. Why do you want to take a chance again?

Look at McElwain at CSU. What quality win did he have on his resume? What top 25 team did he beat? I'll help you. NO ONE. Not one quality win and not one team in the top 25. If Frost was beating several top 25 teams, I still would question if it was sustainable over at least 4 or 5 seasons. But he hasn't even beaten a quality opponent yet.
