Frost was coached by Stanford’s Bill Walsh, Nebraska’s Tom Osborne, the New York Jets’ Bill Parcells and Bill Belichick, and Jon Gruden. He broke into the coaching ranks as a graduate assistant at his alma mater in 2002 before filling the same role at Kansas State in 2006.

What does this have to do with a successful coach? That sure didn't help Charlie Weiss (who I think is still on UF's payroll). It also didn't help Muschamp.

Now, I think Muschamp may do better at USC BECAUSE he had to learn on the job at UF. It's okay to take a coach that may not have had a lot of success at a couple of schools. Has he learned from his mistakes? Is he smart? Can he lead men? Can he motivate, out scheme, out work? We keep looking for young guys that have had little success. Why not find more mature guys that have had some failure? You learn more from your failures than you do from your successes. That's why win/losses is overrated. We've seen this with our last 2 coaches. Pile up a bunch of wins but still look like shite in the process.

Well, I'm not here to argue. There are coaches who are successful and never played the sport. Some take time to learn.

Frost was a successful player, and studied under some well respected coaches. He played the sport at the highest lvl on both sides of the ball. Kelly even mentored him. So if you want to use an proven coach then put Kelly on the list.

Not sure Kelly would come or if UF would want the baggage but a damned good coach, if he wasn't cheating. I'd consider him but I'd probably cheat if given the chance so take my opinion for what it is.
