I think ta'amu was confused because on the play before you could see Luke was telling him that he would need to spike it after the qb keeper. Since the play was under review for so long it wasn't necessary to spike it anymore but ta'amu must have thought he still needed to.
You could tell the coaches were confused because he kept looking at them doing the spike motion like he was explaining himself after it happened.

Should be on the coaches. If they didn't go over a new play with him coming out of the review then of course he's going to default to the last thing they told him.

It kills me that if not for shite coaching decisions (putting Shea back in the LSU game) and shite defense (a fricking 24 point comeback loss) we could be 6-3 right now.

Jordan and the spike -- I member Leslie Miles motioning his QB to spike on the last play at the Ole Miss game. Miles is seen motioning the QB to spike. After the loss, Miles denied he told the QB to spike.
