Georgia would have wins over Notre Dame and Mississippi State and Auburn. with a loss to #2 Alabama in the SECCG.
How is Notre Dames Resume better at the end of the year.
Sure, I'll play...
They've played 3 teams already that were ranked in the top 25 at the time of the game.
2 more opponents are currently ranked. Michigan State is also ranked now, even though they weren't ranked at the time of the matchup.
We have played 2, and will have one additional.
Assuming Bama and UGA win out, Auburn will be a 4 loss team at minimum... and as a result potentially unranked going into selection time (might rebound after a bowl game).
Miss State likely picking up one more loss in the Alabama game as well, so their grasp on top 25 status (currently 21) is tenuous at best.
Ultimately, still a fair amount of football to go, but if we're basing it primarily on what the landscape looks like right now, their resume looks like it will be better... not by a landslide, but it's at least currently more favorable.
ETA: this was typed before I had to put my munchkin to sleep... looks like other posters have pointed this out for you already, though you refuse to accept logic.
Also, @ "the committee uses the ranking at the time that you played them"... WTF? Are we not getting value out of ND's current rank vs their ~20ish ranking back in Week 2... herp... fricking... derp...
*Note* - My ranked opponents are obviously counted using AP Top 25 given that CFP rankings were only released this week... also, I'm not sure that I buy "no other rankings are evaluated/used"... they all have eyes/ears and perception is perception. If they really aren't using anything other than their view of the games thus far between resume and eye test, I see no reason why Clemson would be in the top 4... they would be squarely behind the Oklahoma/tOSU/Penn State debacle in all likelihood...
