Surprised at how well Bentley has done with our lack of offensive playmakers and injuries.

He has had a bit of a slump this year though. Accuracy wise and holding on to the ball too long. (Which with our line is like 2 seconds)

Folks have been fairly rough to OC Kurt Roper and his play-calling. I agree in particular regarding run plays and personnel choices for such run plays - running Turner up the middle constantly is just stupid, but he's proven that when he can re-direct off-tackle and get a bit of maneuvering room, he can be far more effective - but there have been a LOT of passing plays where receivers ran solid routes and were there for sizable gains, but Bentley either over or under-threw them. That's not scheme, it's execution...

Yet having said that, Bentley is still completing 60% of his passes. It just goes to show how much more effective the passing game could be if Jake just cleans up some sloppy footwork.

Last season through 7 games, USC's OL allowed 24 sacks and 57 TFL, which was horrendous. Thus far this season, the patchwork OL has given up 17 sacks and 38 TFL, so it has improved in those areas.

The run game has digressed despite more depth at RB, at least until last week's game. We only have 5 rushing TDs thus far, compared to rushing for 20 last season. I seriously doubt we get to 20 TDs this season.

Bentley has thrown 12 TDs thus far - that equals the total passing TDs he, McIlwain, and Orth combined to throw for 13 games last season....
