It doesn't matter what LSU or Miles would have done on that day. No one and I mean no one short of BB is gonna beat Saban twice in one season...not with the type of talent he had. The reason it's a such a bitter pill for LSU fans is that it was the first time two teams who had played in the regular season wound up playing in the championship game.

LSU beats any other team in the nation easily and as Miles as pointed out, both he and the team never even considered having to play Bama a second time. Miles has even said that if he had to do it over again he would have lobbied both publicly and privately to put Okie St into that game. However he never fathomed he would need to.

In addition, LSU has to play a SEC championship game while Bama sits on their asses at the house. The entire situation was bogus in the end.

We got screwed. The NCAA wanted to make sure their golden boy got in. We didn't stand a shot. Gump refs, beating Saban twice in one season, our guys not pumped up.. everything was working against us. Rest assured if it was any other team our guys would have been ready to go and would have been cemented as the best team to ever play college football.

How can you get hyped up to play an opponent that you already beat and they got in because the NCAA played favorites?

Pitiful.

Which would have been seen as an obvious ploy to create the easiest path to an LSU win, not match up the two best teams...which is the ONLY purpose the BCS ever had.
