Dores were playing well enough to be Top 20 type team then ran into Tide
00 - 59 vs Alabama
24 - 38 @ Florida
14 - 45 vs Georgia
35 - 57 @ Mississippi
If Dores played the 3 post Bama games pre Bama, just seems Gators and Rebs might have been wins and the UGA would have been closer. Since the Alabama game the defense has been wandering around like they survived a nuclear bomb but they are dazed and confused.

I know that I am a UGA fan and that means I have a certain bias for my team, that being said. Seven of 14 points were gifted courtesy our hapless former starting QB, Eason. The sack fumble returned to the one yard line was a great defensive play and probably should have been called a touchdown, at very least a horse collar tackle call was missed. All things considered, the outings for Vanderbilt were very similar against Bama and UGA, less a couple good throws by your QB vs. UGA, he is pretty damn good BTW. Bama has a more experienced secondary and I think that showed. I agree that the Dores probably should have beat Florida, the Ole Miss game may be a different story though.
ETA: The abbreviation for Quarter Back is QB, not QA

I don't disagree that Bama may have broken them. Question is can they overcome it now? Let's hope the bye changes things...

I disagree that Bama broke us. The team was physically ground into fine paste by Alabama which led to struggles against Florida. UGA basically repeated the Bama blueprint and combining those three tough games have really worn the defense down since we aren't as deep as we thought. Then you get the turnovers against Ole Miss that really gave the Rebs a big lead (23 points off turnovers and safeties in a 22 point game) which we could not recover from. Tired defense against a hurry up scheme is also a bad matchup. The bye week should get the physical part to recover. The mental toughness to take a really awful stretch and refocus for a strong finish is what's really in question now.
