Clemson recruits Atlanta and North and East Georgia. Auburn has success in West and South Georgia. Bama hits Atlanta a lot.

So this would be my guess...Kirby being the son of a GA High School coach probably gives him a network to more GA schools/kids than any of us could imagine. That gives us a better shot with the top tier of the state.

As for South Carolina, I'd bet with Kirby and Will Muschamp probably SE many of the same things when they evaluate recruits. Esp knowing how much they've worked together and the fact that they are both defensive coaches.

It really looks like Saban has developed some sort of formula for recruiting kids away from the stars.
