To be fair, the state of Georgia produces 250+ kids that go on to FBS-level schools. If our recruiting class were made up exclusively of Georgia natives, there would still be 10 kids left for every one UGA takes.
The "Building a Fence around the State" argument is great in theory, and as the top of the food chain for GA universities, all of the best kids *should* end up in Athens, but at the end of the day, you can't overcome those prima donnas who either A) buy the snake oil that the Butch Joneses of the world are selling, or B) want to get out of the state at whatever cost.
