Yes

Be sure you are happy with your insurance agent, because it is stupid to switch if you get a ticket

MVR reports are like airport security - they don't check most people unless they have a reason

Doing the driving class, have 20 or more community service hours, bring a letter from a youth pastor or a teacher, talk about good grades & extra curriculars, bring parents to court and make it obvious this is a one time thing

Negotiate to pay fine for reduced charge/speed

Being proactive always helps - this does not have to wreck your life or finances; but you have a little work to do...

Personal note, I'd take the boy's car away except for work and school for a month...
