2009, but he would have left sooner had they been able to get Saban.

Bowden played his FR year at BAMA but transferred to Howard Univ in B'ham (Samford now) because the current coach didn't allow his players to be married and Bowden wanted to get married.

Bowden would have been very successful at BAMA.

I'm sure he would have been very successful, but he only won twice between '87-'09. It would have only been harder for him in the SEC than he had it in the ACC all of those years. I love Bowden, I know all about his feelings for Bama and respect that. I just don't think he's as good of a coach as Saban is, and I'd rather see Bama right where they are with Saban now than what might have happened with Bowden
