I would note too that the critique of Fromm not throwing more or gaining more yards might be because TN had the worst running defense (or damn near to it) in the SEC coming into Sat. My guess is the game plan was always to run early....run often.

I agree.....why pass it when you can run it. Fromm was an effective game manager Sat.

This is my perspective. Fromm didn't need to throw more because the game plan played out to near perfection; hard to argue with 41 to nothing.
Also, regarding Pass #14, on a short pass you simply throw it right to the receiver; there was no reason for Fromm to lead Godwin that much on that short slant pass so I see that missed connection on Fromm. I don't believe in that "throw to the spot" crap especially on a short pass when the ball is only in the air about a second or two.

Once we wore down their defensive front, we ran the ball down their throats with passing plays sprinkled in here and there. I think the game plan was to have a balanced offense until they got worn down, and then run them into the ground.

If you take out the Tech game (because facing Option teams ruin stat comparisons), they were giving up an average of 144 rushing yards per game... at about 3.9 ypc. That's about middle of the SEC in YPG and slightly better than middle in YPC it would look like (took quick glance).
I don't disagree that the mentality was likely always going to be run a ton, but our coaches (I would hope) are smart enough not to use the Tech game as basis for why we should run more than pass. Likely, the bigger factor was road game, and turnovers could have kept it close... take the game out of Fromm's hands unless you need him to make a play and even then, it was relatively a conservative approach to his passing down work.
