I understand that the "right guy/perfect hire" was not out there
What I don't understand is 2 things:
1. TWELVE MILLION DOLLARS
2. Why not just keep him on board with a 1 year "prover yourself from start to finish for a whole year" type deal
O was gonna turn it down?
Not on your life. That buyout is beyond crazy

Have to agree with that reasoning, but they could have sent the same message with a 3 or 5 million buyout
