he could have blended right in with the rest of the mediocres.

Our team, as bad as they are on the offensive side, has actually coached up the defensive line pretty well.

Cece Jefferson's numbers vs. Byron Cowart's are pretty laughable. If the kid had come to Florida he wouldn't have been mediocre, not that bad. Cowart in parenthesis.

Cece Total Tackles: 65 (15)
Cece Total Sacks: 6 (0)
Tackles for Loss: 17.5 (1.5)

Same year, same type of player. Should have come to Florida where he'd at least get a chance to play. Poor frickin' dude.

Weren't they pretty good buddies leading up to signing day, too? I seem to remember a lot of people thinking they were a package deal.

Florida coaches wouldn't have changed his mentality. Looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane. He just doesn't have what it takes on the FBS level.

Yes because AU's DL has really struggled the past 2 years....

Jefferson is just better than Cowart. Cowart doesn't have it between the ears and it wouldn't have mattered where he went. Sucks because he's got all the talent in the world but not the toughness.

Hope it works out for him and he finds success wherever he lands

You are dense.

Listen, I am not one to blindly take up for our coaches. I will call it like I see it.

If cowart was a WR or a QB (neither of whom we seem to be able to develop), your criticism would be well founded.

However, Garner has been developing STUDS on the DL no matter how many stars they have.

Cowart is just not a good football player. He is lazy and does not play with passion. Maybe he will get it together and be motivated one day. But as others have said, he was getting beat in 1:1 drills by WALK ON offensive linemen in the fall. He virtually walked out of practice in week 2 over it. He is soft.

Let me say it again....."walk on" OL.

Garner put him in game situations to see if the light would come on for him and it did not.

Auburn and the SEC will never hear his name again.
