This question is really just could a team of Alabama alumni in the past 10 years beat the Jets, because he coached at LSU like 13 years ago.

On offense, you'd have:
QB - McCarron - only option
RB - Ingram, Henry, Drake, Yeldon, Lacy, Fowler - decent depth, not many game changers
WR - Julio, Cooper, Stewart, Norwood - actually not a bad receiving corps at all
TE - Howard - still need to see him in action, great in open space though
OL - Carpenter, Fluker, Kelly, Cam Robinson, Andre Smith, Steen, Warmack - strong up the middle, weak on the edges

Defense:
DL - Allen, Dareus, Dial, Pettway, Reed, A Robinson, Tomlinson, Upshaw - pretty strong, pretty deep
LB - Anderson, Barron, Foster, Hightower, Mosley, Ragland, T Williams - great top three with Foster Mosley and Hightower
CB - Humphrey, K Jackson, C Jones, Kirkpatrick - ehhh, not crazy about this bunch
S - Clinton-Dix, Collins, E Jackson - good group of safeties

I do not think they could beat the Jets (lack of special teams, notwithstanding). The safeties and LBs are really strong. Corners are pretty weak. OL is strong up the middle but would have trouble at T. And as bad as the quarterback play in the NFL is this year, I didn't read too much about McCarron's phone ringing off the hook.

There are some good players in there no doubt, but I feel like if these are your starters, you're winning maybe 2 games.

I'd argue one of the most accomplished players he ever coached was at LSU and is still playing. Andrew Whitworth is one of the best LTs in the NFL, was a pro bowler the past 2 seasons (and in 2012) and on the All Pro team in 2015 and 2014.
