$$$$$$$ talks, honest programs walk.

With all the money we make from the SECN/SEC.... and the conference we play in.

Why the F would we be honest? I would be thoroughly embarrassed if this was a bidding war that we lost.

Never good to be the cheap fricks

Okay ... this is something that is important to understand.

I've been around things for a long long time now. I can say no program is squeaky clean - things are what they are and have been for decades. Long before I was born. I know of stories dating back to the thirties with Bama in Memphis and I know of first hand stories dating into the 50s and 60s with Bama, Clemson, Auburn, Georgia and Tennessee ... know them for a fact. LSU even (but they've usually played by the rules even when it has cost them a player or two), and Arkansas with a famous WR of theirs in '58. Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan, all of them have been playing the game for decades because they had money to do it and coaches willing to do it.

Some programs, some coaches, didn't do it .... wouldn't do it.

We lagged behind for decades and ... in that respect we still do. Everyone has their limits.

With all of that stated, Clemson has been doing it for a long long time. They've built a network and they pride themselves in how efficiently and effectively it is run. Tennessee too, UNC to especially when it comes to basketball. Same for Louisville. I always heard wild and crazy stories about UCLA basketball back in the day ... Wooden wasn't just the Wizard of Westwood.

Back to Clemson.

Wait ... first, remember this. Charlie Pell went to Florida and took his recruiting methodology with him from Clemson. Florida paid the price, Clemson did later but Danny Ford perfected the system and built the system bigger and better than Pell ... and eventually it cost him. But Florida didn't start winning until they had Pell's players ... he and Galen Hall got them over the hump.

Okay, now back to Clemson.

Clemson plays dirty behind the scenes on the recruiting trail. Can't prove it but it always eventually comes to light. They used to have some particularly dirty recruiting battles with Johnny Majors' staff at Tennessee ... got busted went they went after a couple of players in Knoxville. Probably the first ever recruiting scandal publicized on a major network, pre-ESPN, was when ABC did a prime time news story (that they had uncovered through Wide World of Sports) on Clemson cheating in Knoxville ... I'll never forget it.

So Clemson learned from that ... and I was told this by one of the biggest Clemson families (a member) in their history. They decided that if they lost a player they had invested in, someone was going to pay. So they learned to cover things up better than most and always have a backup plan.

Nothing is more evident of this than the Nkimdiche case with Ole Miss. (Oh, I forgot something about UNC turning in Danny Ford and Ford being caught accusing UNC's coach at the time Dick Crum, of turning him in ... it was caught on camera after the game. UNC's Crum was later coincidentally busted for a violation and fired ... retribution was paid.) So now we're back to Ole Miss and everyone knows the big was put in the NCAA's ear by Clemson after they lost three Georgia recruits to Ole Miss.

They play very very dirty.

You can bet they've already got their bases covered and ducks in a row with XT.

If you Waller with the pigs you're sure to end up covered in pig shite.

Wallering in the pig shite is going to catch-up to Clemson - it always does. The Florida programs are already on the case and Georgia will soon be too now that Richt is gone.

Best thing we can do is not Waller in the shite with Clemson. It's a battle we cannot win ... but we can win by playing within the acceptable limits. Limits that do not raise flags.

XT is not worth exceeding those boundaries.
