Our own fanbase triggers me more than any Rant poster ever will. Already have fans over on 247 bitching about Roper and the offense complaining about yards gained etc. I'm not saying anyone here is but I thought it would be something worth noting. There is a difference between the # of yards an offense can put up vs the # of yards an offense has to put up in order to win. What I mean by that is this:

Through the first 2 games against non fcs opponents, we have only had to achieve 64 yards of TOTAL offense in order to score 7 points. Not a 64 yard drive, even though we have had a handful that have been more than that, but a total of 64 yards no matter how many drives those yards have taken. This is clearly a result of excellent special teams play and turnovers but both of those are part of the overall game plan/philosophy anyway. In fact, there is only one team in the SEC who needed less yards to hit pay dirt and they played an FCS team this weekend, UTk.

For a little last minute trolling... even after their record setting 1st week... Mizzou is now dead last in the conference in this category needing 102 yards of total offense to gain 7 points. NC State by comparison is at 106.

You mean on average we need 64 yards of offense for 7 points?

exactly. Math works out to 605 yards total offense/66 total points = 9.167yards/point. That times 7 is 64.16yards/7points.

Yes we have scored 14 points on KOR but that is also 14 points that our offense didn't have to score.

Well that certainly isn't a ton. I'd like to see what the average distance of our scoring drives are.

I can work that up later. The only real point I was trying to make with all this is hey, if you don't need to move the ball very far to score that's a good thing in my book

If Arkansas started winning games I'd be thrilled no matter how well our offense is doing. Right now the Gamecock offense looks very efficient when it needs to be. Y'all might not be hanging half a hundred on folks every week but who cares as long as you keep winning?
