Shoop needs for this defense to come out and shut down UF.

VolNation needs Shoop's defense to shut down opponents. We have been in purgatory long enough!

Here's a UT breakdown from UF's Rival's guy, Luke Stampini:
I'd say it's a fair assesment. I think he's undervaluing our WR corp a little bit, but I understand the sentiment as most of these guys are just now getting their time to shine. My body is ready

Gators need to contain RB John Kelly. I suspect he will get plenty of carries on Saturday. UT probably needs to go to him over 20 times. He's a solid back, capable of chewing up yards, but keeping him in check will go a long way in getting a win for UF. Me personally, I think UT should give RB Ty Chandler more touches somehow. He looks to be UT's most explosive player -- home run hitter. You saw that on the opening kickoff vs. Indiana State. However, they have leaned on Kelly entirely on the ground. UF should be happy if Chandler hardly touches the ball. UF needs first half vs. GaTech QB Quinten Dormady. He was forcing throws into coverage, but 2nd half he looked pretty good. He seems to throw a nice ball and capable of being a very effective passer. UF needs to get pressure on him. WR Marquez Callaway looks like he could be a problem. He's made some big plays for UT this year. 6'2" target and probably UT's most dangerous weapon outside. The rest of the WR corps looks fairly average for the SEC. LB Daniel Bituli looks to be very active. He has the speed to make plays sideline to sideline. I liked what I saw from him. DE Darrell Taylor also flashed. He's explosive off the LOS, which allows him to be very disruptive at times. Florida's tackles will need to step up their play to neutralize him. All I could think about with the rest of the DL was "some of these had have not lived up to their lofty recruiting rankings yet." (McKenzie, Phillips, Kongbo). DT Shy Tuttle has flashed in the past, but he's coming back from a knee injury and only played a few snaps vs. ISU. Is he still trying to get back to full strength? Were they saving him for UF? I'm not sure what to think of UT's secondary. They looked lost at times vs. GaTech, but that might be more of a product of facing such a run heavy team and being caught off guard a bit. Then ISU (or GaTech) hardly threw the ball.
