4/6 you listed were under 220 and 3/6 were 210 or under.

You guys are giving Lanier shite -- and I don't know if he ever said >220# or not -- but the fact is there a lot of difference in what a guy who is 205# and one who is 185# can do at the point of attack over the course of a game.
Sure, the guys who are 185-ish might be more effective catching passes out of the backfield and can break long runs and get you a couple of TDs. But after 8-10 dive plays, the guys who are 185-ish are less and less effective. The bruisers who are 205# can continue pounding in the 4Q and keep the Defense honest.
I won't argue that having your pick from both is best. But I always want two big backs on the roster who can do what is needed to perform in short yardage and help manage the clock in the 4Q. I hope we have that come Spring.

Ben Tate - 218lbs
Michael Dyer - 220lbs
Tre Mason - 208lbs
Cameron Artis Payne - 212lbs
Peyton Barber - 225lbs
Kam Pettway - 240lbs
All would be considered big , every down backs in the Lanier running back system
