Well, maybe you should move to a country without any rights for their citizens.

Think about what I said. 20% of the US population suffers from some form of mental illness. 1 out of 5 people that you work with, your kids go to school with, who cheer in the stands at a football game. Do you really want them to have a gun??? The majority of these murders are from people that are mentally ill. A crime of passion is someone undergoing a psychotic event. There is a direct correlation between Terrorism/radicalism and mental illness. Shooting and killing someone is not a natural occurrence.

We all have rights but why should we have the right to be killed by someone else? You have a much better chance being killed by some nut than you will ever have of protecting yourself with your gun. I am not talking about banning guns. I'm talking about trying to come up with real solutions. I own guns but my family has also been the victims of gun violence. I wonder if any of you have had to personally deal with the subject? I don't care if you tell me to frick off. It's a natural response to think this is an isolated instance and you and your family are perfectly safe. I just hope you never have to deal with what this family is dealing with now. All they are left with are questions.

By the standards of this board, I am very liberal and have very strong feelings about guns.

But this thread is not the place for that discussion.

Thoughts and prayers for the Locksley family and may they somehow find comfort and peace during this horrific time.

Let's leave the gun debate for another day.
