How much did Hurricane Harvey impact this game's outcome?

Some A&M players' families no doubt lost their homes last week--that has to be a huge distraction. Heck, the three best Texas college teams (Baylor, UTex, and A&M) each had complete meltdowns this weekend. You can't tell me that the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey wasn't on the back of these players' minds.

Weird how they didn't start thinking about the hurricane until late in the 3rd quarter

That would hold more merit if they got blown out from jump street.
They were up 44-10. That doesn't really count anymore.

Zero Excuse to blow that big of a lead

They were up 44-10... If anything, it would've affected them at the beginning. Not the end.

That's like claiming that the plane crash of the Oklahoma State women's basketball team caused the football team to blow a 17-point fourth quarter lead to Iowa State.
The person most affected by Harvey rushed for over 200 yards...but only carried the ball twice in the 4th quarter.

LSU blew a 24-3 lead to Tennessee after Rita in 2005 and needed basically a hail mary against Arizona State the game prior after Katrina. I can kind of get on board with the OP. But still, blowing a 34 point lead in the second half is all on the coaches. Texas just isn't good. Maybe they would have beaten Maryland, but I don't think they would have looked great doing it. And Baylor. I mean they were 6-6 last year. Were they supposed to be good this year? That program is a disaster. TCU didn't have any trouble taking care of an FCS team.

This reminds me of the people claiming Oklahoma State was distracted when they lost to Iowa State because the girls basketball team had a plane crash or something. Kinda odd that it apparently didn't bother them at all until the 4th quarter.

Extremely original thought, I like to compare it to when people claimed Oklahoma State was distracted when they lost to Iowa State because the girls basketball team had a plane crash or something. Kinda odd that it apparently didn't bother them at all until the 4th quarter.
