I haven't done too much looking into SC yet. But hopping on their board, they seem to be thin at cornerback. Which is good for us.

I'm wondering if anyone has a good analysis of where things stand vs SC. I think this game may turn out to be the most important on our schedule and want to see how our strengths and weaknesses stack up.

From what I've seen so far, it looks like a shootout potential with good offense against bad defense for both sides. Hard to sift through preseason reports and discern where the matchup will be.

I know that SC defensive End lost a good player and have a relatively okay replacement.

How does our OL stack up against their D. I think that might determine this game.

They aren't the only ones thin at CB.

SWOT

Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats

It's been awhile since I've seen that referenced.

Not sure why I got downvoted... but okay.

Jesus- yeah, I think we'll both be weak at that position. I thin they have a decent QB and WRs. So that will be a high flying passing game from both sides.

I'm curious is there are other battles that look good or bad on either side.

Yes Strengths, Weakness, Opportunity, Threats. Seems like a good way to compare matchups. But I could be wrong if someone wants to measure it differently.

We have strengths in passing/receiving, running game and OL. We're weak in the secondary. We have opportunities in special teams for improvement in kicking and returning, and we are threatened by SC passing and QB.

Bentley completed like 65% of his passes and had his best game against Mizzou last year, throwing for 250 yards. He's solid no doubt. Best in the SEC? Dunno. They also return 2 of their top 3 WR's. They also return their top 2 RB's. Seem to return a lot of experience on the OL too and their TE's.

They seem to return a lot of experience on the DL but their sack leader with 9 is gone. No one else had more than 2 on the team last year. Looks like they only return 1 LB with much experience. It looks like they also return most of their DB's. I don't know if that's a good thing or bad for them.

Seems like a lot of similarities between the 2 teams.

Barring a run of injuries or one of the key players having a lousy season USC vs Missouri looks to be a track meet scoring wise. Both secondaries are said to be shaky going into the season (we will find out one way or the other before too long) and if that is the case I think the Missouri D-line is going to be the difference maker.

If you can get pressure to disrupt passes and get a few sacks to end drives I think Missouri pulls it out. On the other hand if Bentley has a nice clean jersey and plenty of time to read the field y'all are going to need a monster game from your offense.

On the plus side if there is bad weather for the game, which happens a lot in our neck of the woods around October, your running game should give you an edge.
