Either they are woefully naive and believed everything Freeze told them OR they already knew everything Freeze was up to and knew the jig was up when that call slipped through the cracks.
Both scenarios are quite damning for Ole Miss but at least w/the former they can try and claim they were duped and look for a lesser punishment than if if it's the latter and they straight up knew what was up all along.

Duped by a man who called a hooker with his company cell phone while on a work trip. It's an angle, not an especially good one, but it is an angle.
