Still looked like a beast the next week, but not to the same consistency

This is incorrect. Lawson has been one of the most productive NFL pass rushers on a per snap basis from the beginning

Lawson set PFF's rookie Pass Rush Productivity recored through 2 games (pre Packers)

quote:

Cincinnati Bengals: Through two games, Carl Lawson has a pass-rushing productivity of 21.0, which is the best for any rookie edge-rusher through two games with at least 20 pass-rushes in the past 12 seasons.

Through 3 Weeks he lead all edge rushers in Pass Rush Productivity

quote:

Through nearly three weeks of NFL action, Lawson boasts the highest pass-rushing productivity among edge defenders, with 19.9. His 17 total pressures from the right side are the most among edge defenders.

Week 4 after playing future HoF LT Joe Thomas, Carl Lawson is #2 in Pass Rush Productivity amongst 3-4 OLBs

quote:

Lawson is up to 25 pressures for the season now and his 16.5 pass rush productivity rating (PRP measures pressure created on a per snap basis, weighted towards sacks) ranks second among 3-4 outside linebackers

Through Week 5, he leads edge defenders in Pass Rush Productivity

quote:

He has the second-best pass-rush productivity score (16.5) among all edge defenders, a metric that factors pressure on a per-snap basis and weights towards sacks.

Carl is quietly making himself a lot of money.

His biggest draw back is he has short arms for his position. That leads to him not being able to get ahold of opposing QBs for sacks. Even at Auburn his hurries were high as a kite.
