Bjork did not hire Freeze and could not fire him and NOT pay him $16M unless there was evidence against him or the NCAA forced it.

Realistically, how could Bjork not have noticed a pattern on Hugh's phone that allegedly dates back to 2012, and how could the University release enough Freeze's records from an athletic association-funded phone to get him fired but refuse to release the rest of the records after he's gone? There's something very, very off. Bjork should have known that he had Hugh by the balls and that he could terminate the contract without triggering the buyout whenever he wanted to go public with it. At times, it almost seems like the Athletic Department simply let Freeze get fired, but it makes no sense considering how much of the defense has been based on Freeze the man.

Bjork is an incredible fundraiser, but I'm not sure how to defend him on the NCAA investigation or on Freeze's downfall, which are intrinsically related. Plus there are the rumors that he was to take the K-State job if not for becoming damaged goods

Seems plausible that they didn't know about the phone records. The whole situation is baffling if you assume the different OM factions were working together but they clearly were not. Vitter is a stuffed shirt and a schill for the boosters. He's the one that needs to go.
