Back to your original post the PAC 12 will stay at 12 unless UT joins the conference.
PAC 12 and UT is close as a perfect fit as you can get in a way.
There is still some differences as how one views football at a public university but you can't tell me University of Washington doesn't care about football.
No Baylor, Colorado St, Hawaii, San Diego St, BYU and Boise St will ever see the PAC 12
People outside of the PAC 12 footprint may not understand why but once you live out here it is easy to see

UT belongs with Oklahoma and Texas A&M. The PAC 12 isn't adding either of those.
