Assuming that qualifying language does exist, "reasonable" may be hard to define. The situation he may be facing given potential sanctions makes what is "reasonable" even more difficult to determine.

Hiring fired coaches at bargain prices for staff or other positions is common place. For instance, Mike Locksley on Bama's staff was originally hired at 45k a year after being fired from a position making close to 700k.

As Locksley moved from OC/interim HC to analyst, its not an apples to apples analogy. However, moving from LSU to the Ole Miss HC job under normal conditions isn't apples to apples either; it certainly isn't under current cinditions.

Coach Miles does stand to offer a school, especially one that is not in a favorable position for success, a cost savings.
