Interesting. Personal experience with the guy or just a vibe you get? I've never known him on a personal level, but have had some business dealings with him.
Dude attacked his daughter for being gay and said she is going to hell because the Bible forbids homosexuality. The Bible also forbids divorce and guess what Rick is.....

I was just making a joke because he's a minor local celebrity who's outspoken/obnoxious about political and social views that I disagree with and seems to have an enormous ego. YMMV.

I wouldn't trust Rick Burgess to realize he was wet if he was standing outside in a hurricane.
Seems sincere to me. Why not?

Any and every word he preached at both worship services and Men's conferences. And I've been to 3 of them at Bellevue.

On December 17, 2006, the church announced that Paul Williams, a minister and staffer at the church for 34 years, had been placed on leave with an investigation pending regarding a "moral failure," identified by Gaines and others as alleged child molestation in the 1980s.[30] The next day, December 18, Gaines released a statement that acknowledged that he had been aware of the allegation since June 2006 but that he did not address it for several months because Williams had been attending professional counseling, because of confidentiality concerns, and out of compassion for the staffer.

Uhm, yes he did. To Brandi, he said: "I told you before and I'll say it again you're my daughter and I will always love you. But I love you enough to tell you the truth. I'm not going to come up with some version of love that really isn't love at all, that pats you on the back to justify you all the way to hell."
