Nutt's allegation surround back channel efforts to blame him, not public statements. That's why his attorney has cell phone records from freeze that are attempting to connect off the record contacts to public statements from reporters.
It's all bullshite and I doubt they can prove a coordinated effort, but that article doesn't really apply here

Bjork and Freeze will say that all statements they made to media followed what the official statement says.
Have you seen any public statements by Ole Miss to the contrary? Or statements that follow the initial statement?
