Which is strange, especially after hearing speak about evaluating talent at SEC media days. Makes me wonder how he misses on kickers.

I'm not sure that kicker was who you thought it was. Regardless, in the kid's defense, he can't be blamed for that. The Kick was a hail marry that not even Saban expected him to make.
The Kick was long, and it was fairly straight. However, it was out of his range (barely) and there were only slow guys on over the bammer side. That play, while fricking awesome, was not on the kid, it was on the coaches.
I feel for the kid as he will see replays of it for the rest of his life.
