Went to Auburn for 91-92 school year as a freshman. Fell in love with pussy, weed, and beer and left AU with a 1.8 GPA after graduating third in my high school class. Parents told me if I ever went back to school I was paying for it my damn self. Never have gone back to school but doing good. Make around 70k stateside and when working deployed overseas make 2-3 times that much.
fricking up that year of college is still my biggest regret in life, but if not for that frick up I would not have my gorgeous wife of 10 years and my 2 amazing kids. One of which is a freshman at UNA in teaching and the other is a sophomore in HS that is working toward getting a scholarship to the AF Academy.

I know a HS valedictorian at a strict private Christian school ( the one I went to) and she flunked out of Bama after her first year because she got sidetracked by her sorority events. She had like a 1.0 GPA and she may have not completely flunked ( yet) as she was already on probation, but her dad pulled her out of there, nevertheless. She went on to UNA, got focused, and made Presidents List the rest of her academic career.
Party schools can wreck a lot of scholarships if the kids aren't well grounded. I had one spring semester where it seemed all I did was party and hang by the pool at the Retreat but I fortunately transitioned out of that phase pretty quick.
