Working with Veterans gives me great pleasure, mostly when they Commit to serve our Country knowing full well they may be asked to go into battle......they keep their commitment
Also they Commit with no fanfare, no ESPN no National exposure, they have my respect

Damn man. We all respect the veterans and their commitment to this country too but this is a football recruiting messageboard. Wtf was your point? That military vets have more commitment than a kid committing to play a sport somewhere? Well no shite.

Ehhh this isn't entirely true! I agree this doesn't belong here, but since its here as a veteran myself I have seen people who signed up for the military but didn't really want to serve. A lot of kids sign up nowadays wanting the benefits more then anything. I was Marine Corps Infantry, and when we deployed my first time there was 5 guys from our battalion who went and did drugs on purpose so they wouldn't be able to deploy. You see it on social media as well. People in the armed forces going on FB stating they didn't sign up to fight a war. Now I know its a small minority, but you cant assume that an 18 yr old in the Military has more commitment then a 18 yr old college kid.

An aunt of mine went and got a degree from Clemson. She had a lot of options going out of school. She decided to join the Air Force. She spent her career overseas for years, and retired as a lieutenant colonel.
She wasn't from a military background. Her mother was an old school Manhattan theatre lady. Kind of a pre hippie type. But she decided to serve her country, rather than try to get rich with her degree. People of pride and passion can come from all sorts of backgrounds.
