Would that be the ACC team with the Heisman trophy winning QB, the ACC team that won 10 games including OOC wins vs healthy Ole Miss, Florida, and Michigan, or the other ACC team that also won 10 games?

Oh, and you do understand those standings include non-conference games too right?

Yes that ACC, the Heisman winner that lost the last three games of the year (2 to average SEC Teams), the team that beat a 4-8 Ole Miss, was destroyed by the Heisman winner and beat a very average UF and UM team.

So tell me who was better. Who played the schedule that was worthy of their ranking?

The ACC was probably the best conference in college football last season. Clemson won the conference and won the national title. They every bit earned their standing.

ETA: Final NCAA final strength of schedule rankings puts them 3rd behind Alabama and Ohio State. Going back to the B12 competition level discussion, their highest representative is Oklahoma at 11th.
