I'd be in favor of 9 conference games with two permanent cross division opponents and then rotate the others every year. There would be classes that never played a specific team from the other side, but the that happens already and the trade off (keeping long-standing games like Bama/AU, AU/LSU, etc) would be worth it.
Bama - AU/TN
LSU - AU/UF
OM - Vandy/UGA
MSU - Vandy/UK
Mizz - USCe/UGA
A&M - UK/UF
Arky - USCe/TN

Good idea...why didn't I think of that? You'd play the other teams every 5 years.

WON'T work without divisions since there's NO WAY to compare teams in who's better than whom WITHOUT common opponents. Divisions give you @ least 5 schools to compare yourself to somebody else.
Adding more teams will have to switch to pods. Yes, I know the whole "division" argument by the NCAA, but each year pair up 2 pods & that's 1 division. Case solved.
