I think the root issue is that expansion has made it where (in my view, at least) we miss out on a lot of good games that were enjoyed in the past.
I actually am fine with the 9 SEC games a year. In the current system, it is crazy how long teams in the same conference can go without playing each other.
And I do not think Alabama/Tenn rivalry should go away, I was just wondering how Alabama fans felt about it now.
The truth is, I hate that expansion has reduced some of the games I really enjoyed. It might not sting as much had it not been teams like Mizzou getting added.

Agree with your entire post but especially this. Conference expansion sucks for the fans. And while I might not catch them every year for all the other teams, I enjoy all the traditional rivalries and want them all protected wherever possible, including resuming some of the old Auburn ones (or switching them to the east) if that could be done without fricking over other series.
More to your question, I'm in my mid 30's and I care deeply about TSIO. It's been lopsided as of late but it's a series I have fond memories going back to some classics I saw as a boy in Legion Field. As far as Alabama goes, all I really care about is playing Auburn and Tennessee every year.
