Roster is coming together nicely with the addition of Robertson

Phillips
Robertson
Barnett
MPJ
Tilmon/Porter

(I'm assuming if we don't get Tilmon, then Jontay will reclassify)

Harris, Roberts, Puryear off the bench. Knox maybe a long shot at this point but still out there.

That's a pretty damn good squad and a definite tournament team at least I would think.

I'm not convinced Robertson is a starter yet. I feel like he's gonna have a role, but someone might step up from last years team.

Either way, the bench looks deep, except for size.

I'll assume we pick up either Tilmon or Jontay, that should get us in the tournament.

Honestly, not sure this team sizes up like MPj wants next year. He's thinking FF, I'm thinking maybe second round.

That's not a knock on anyone, just don't see the bench being able to get us breathing room while the big dogs sit during tournament games.

Still should be an awesome season, def top 3 SEC team now.

New coach, new system, a lot of new players, many freshmen players we are depending on and a small team.

I'm the dork standing by for the X's and O's of the new offense.

Count me among those completely in love with the idea of Gonzo letting someone else steer the offense.

If we can get his defensive mind mixed with an innovative offense, look out. I loved Keadys teams growing up because of intensity, offense not so much. They were very much like a Norm Stewart team.

If HCCM can bring a Keady/Stewart intensity and an innovative offense to Columbia, the sky is the limit.

I wouldn't say small. Maybe the guards, but that frontline would be 6'7", 6'10", 6'10"+

That's plenty big

Don't think Smith coming off the knee injury will be ready to start. Puryear is a better option. Especially if Mizzou is switching to a Hoiberg style of pro offense. Puryear lets Mizzou run a true 5 out offense.
Jontay when he comes allows the same, but with more size.

Puryear will fill the role of the 5th man in the line up before Smith.

And that line up, while better than last year, doesn't impress me to the point of thinking we make the tourney. I think we're better. Just not sold it's a tourney team. MPJ is really the only newsworthy player added to the lineup. I just don't know that he alone is enough. The rest of the guys have a new coach with a new system. Just not feeling it to the same degree.

Mizzou is probably a bubble team as is. MPJ will be surrounded by 4 upperclassmen that all averaged double figures in college last season.
Oklahoma went from a final 4 team to a 13 win team without Hield. It's possible that MPJ has a similar result on Mizzou's team.

Reedus, i do agree this team have a lot to prove before calling it a tourney team, but a few things that help support it.

(last year)
Phillips - 10.4 ppg
Robertson - 16 ppg
Barnett - 12 ppg
Puryear - 11 ppg
MPJ, we know will be in the double digits scoring, maybe even triple digits????

We know Zo will have this team playing as a top 30 defensive team(most likely higher)

The bench will have Roberts who can score, CVL who finished the year strong, and Giest who still somehow averaged 7 ppg in his first year. Along with Smith who showed promise really early on before getting injured, same can be said about Nikko. The bench goes every bit of 5+ deep.

All of this without...the REAL possibility of a high 4* Tilmon, or a elite 5* big Jontay Porter.

What Im getting at is, we may have 2 players on the bench who is or are capable of scoring double digits, thats BIG news.

Hell, our bench next year may be even be better than last years coached team( a slight bit of sarcasm, maybe)

Harris
Roberts
Barnett
Giest
Smith
Nikko
