This is bigger than we thought.

Is Kirby trying to process him? This makes no sense.

I wonder who he rooms with, could've been worse if they got arrested too. Oh and RAs suck.

The smell of burning marijuana coming from and a subsequent search of Elijah Holyfield's dorm room led to the Georgia running back's Monday morning arrest. According to a police report obtained by Dawgs247 a pair of UGA police offers were called to Vandiver Hall by a resident adviser who had detected the smell of marijuana coming from Holyfield's dorm room. When the officers knocked on the door and identified themselves it was Holyfield who answered. The report notes that the sophomore ball carrier's eyes were red and bloodshot.
I'd hate to be that RA now. Never met one I trusted.

Gibbs and Hardman so damn right Holyfield is taking the fall for this. That's what happens when a 4th stringer lives with 2 starters.

There's a long, distinguished record of them going out of their way to catch members of the FB team doing something wrong.
Out of curiosity...how do they go out of their way? By checking out a car sitting in the middle of a street not moving and finding a player passed out at the wheel?
Or by walking up on them out in public smoking weed?
You might be right, but our players tend to do thing in a very public way and then act surprised when the get popped. Whether you or anybody else likes the law, it is immaterial. It is the law. if the players don't want trouble they need to stay out of public while breaking the law.

I'm just disappointed that we apparently don't pay our handlers enough money to teach these kids how to roll up a wet towel and put it over the crack in the door, or how to blow their smoke through paper towel tubes of dryer sheets. I thought that was in Dorm Life 101 and should probably just be included with their welcome to campus bags.

'd love for Kirby to send a message here by not disciplining him at all.
A message that he's going rogue against university policy?
He'd better win a couple of National Championships before trying that. I don't think it would work after an 8-5 season.

I don't know what they do for kids today. They need to sit down with them and spell it out for them, that they cannot do stuff like this and get away with it. If it is some far ranging conspiracy by the police,(And I don't believe it is) they need to be made aware of it, and warned to keep their noses clean.

I'm aware of Hardman's hype, but is Gibbs projected to be a starter this year too? As a true freshman, in the secondary? Did we not learn our lesson about true freshmen in the secondary in 2013?

They seem to be hyping him for it. At the very least get a ton of playing time. Seems like he is a leader for Star, I think?

Thats what I thought too.. hearing lots of good things so even if he doesn't start he will likely be seeing a lot of playing time.

I think McGhee gets the nod to start but Gibbs could steal the job pretty quickly.

Yep I think he'll see some PT for sure. Star position is a possibility

He apparently really impressed the coaches this spring and perhaps with his work ethic? That's about all they have to go on right now.

And what would that message be?
That society and the state shouldn't care at all about a kid having less than an ounce of weed in his possession.
