We all know who #1 was, which teams were #2 and #3? How did they fare in 2016? By the same metric, we're more talented than the team that won the FBS Championship last year, and was a close runner-up the year before that. At this level, it doesn't take "tricks", it takes consistency, discipline, competent game planning, and even breaks to win a title.
That is the point I was making. I hate when people say "we should be better caused we recruit top ten" when in fact finishing 2nd last year means we preformed above our ability level based on recruiting compared to other SEC teams.
