Your facts are incorrect, the PAC move was first discussed when the B1G wanted to add Penn State and Notre Dame back in the late 1980's.

Good grief, Kentucky Mustangs, I'm talking about recently. And at that time it was Texas to the Pac, A&M to the SEC.

In fact, there was an A&M regent who was later convicted of a crime by using an A&M airplane to go to Baton Rouge for his son's graduation (Ross Margraves).

During that trial it was exposed that Aggy was the first one who wanted to blow up the Southwest Conference. However, it was Arkansas who pulled the trigger. Yet, somehow, Texas got blamed.

I can't wait until people start accusing DeLoss Dodds of being on the grassy knoll in Dallas when Kennedy was killed.

I don't put all the blame on Texas, but they do share a part of it.

I do blame Texas for leaving the SIAA and taking TAMU. If the SWC never forms the old Big 8 is probably stronger and Arkansas + Missouri have a real base history from the beginning. Texas Tech muddles along in the old Border Conference and is probably a G5 school today, which probably fits where they could really compete. All the smaller private Texas schools either would be in the Big 8 or in a G5 carving out their niche.

I understand why they did it, just not sure it was the right strategy.

As for Arkansas, did you ever think about how it felt to be the only non Texas school in the conference? I remember it was an issue with Frank, Lou, and Eddie back in the 1970's!
