I've legitimately never seen such a blatant misuse of applying a flagrant foul in a key situation in my life. What would've happened if State scored on that possession after the fact? Does the flagrant erase it?

This. Beyond that, it was clearly incidental contact. The UCONN girl flopped but you could tell from the replay that the MSU girl didn't haul off and purposely drive her elbow into her. If she had that girl wouldn't have left the bench for a while. An intentional elbow to the larynx isn't something you grab your throat and then pop right up from.
