I'm not sure it matters all that much. I know some years ago they opened the season against UCLA in Pasadena and won big.
It would be interesting though to see how Bama would do at Columbus in a night game there against O State or in a late afternoon game against a USC .....but only if it was a stacked USC team

Ummm....I was at the USC game and it was a night game. So if we moved it back a couple of hours that would make it a tougher game?
