What Vols fan loves Butch?

Y'all don't think he should've been fired after last season.

This doesn't mean we love him. Obviously he has dropped quite a few games that we should have won during his career at Tennessee. Last year was a rollercoaster that ended on a mostly down note. We are already paying this guy until something like 2020, so I just hope we can do ok until we work his buyout down a couple million more and then pick up someone with genuine Tennessee connections as our next HC.

Jim Bob Cooter anyone?

I completely understand where you're coming from but this is a tough question if you look at all the factors. No one was happy about last season. But last year there were so many other high-profile openings and we didn't have an AD. All that plus the fact that we had 3 coaches in 5 years before him and he's brought us to the highest level we've been in since the late 2000s***. People will also give him a pass because we had like 22 starters on defense this season and some injuries on the offensive side as well (Bama game o-line was composed of backups). We are looking pretty stout on our 2018 recruiting at the moment as well.

Do I want him fired? Yes. But more importantly I want him to be replaced with someone better. Last year with all that going on I doubt that would've happened.

***I i have higher expectations for the Vols than a 9 win season but i try to be realistic.
