I'm sick of my job. Each day is one day closer to me just saying frick it and walking out. I live in a nice apartment but it's too expensive, but I don't want to get a house because I don't want that type of asset holding me down. My lease is up at the end of May and I see no better time to do it than now. Life after college sure fricking sucks... and I've been learning this for seven years now. Late twenties blow.

Multiply that nice apartment rent X 10 and you'll get an idea of what you'll be paying in Cali.

You are griping about the cost of an apartment in South Carolina, but want to move to California? I also hope you feel warm and fuzzy paying an azz load of taxes, paying one and a half times what you pay for energy now, and the state going over your vehicle with a fine tooth comb come emission time.

And I'm glad for the apartment owners that there are people out there that don't wanna be burdened with a home that does crazy stuff like build equity and just want to piss away money on an apartment lease.
