That was a combination of Hurts hitting a ceiling, defenses figuring out how to defend him, and Kiffin checking out around November.
If we had committed to the run in the Peach Bowl, we would've beaten Washington by at least two more touchdowns. It still amazes me how Kiffin had to be dragged kicking and screaming into running the ball in certain games. He simply refused to lean on that in the first half of many games.

Correct. When teams figured out Jalen really couldn't pass beyond 10 yards very well and began to stack the box...our offense began to really struggle against teams with good defenses. Were it not for the fact that our defense and special teams scored so often, we might have lost another game or two due to our offensive struggles down the stretch.
The encouraging thing is if Jalen can take the top off the defense by hitting some deep and intermediate routes this year...our offense should be virtually unstoppable. That's a big IF though.
