I know few on here care about T&F (but I do).
Maybe Sterk can spend 5 minutes looking for the problem since the big ticket items are in place.
Coach Halter is no newcomer, yet at the recent SEC Championships, the men finished waaaay last with 3 points (THREE DAMNED POINTS!...Arky won with 98)
On the women's side we finished 10th and would have been dreadfully last if Karissa Schweizer hadn't won the mile and 3000.
Well, I just want to go on record that all 3 of us fans who follow T&F are pissed and want a coach who gives a shite. And we'll hold our breaths until things improve.
So there, frickin frackin track team.

There are some of us T&F fans out here.
Agree, it would be nice after everything else is in order, to try to revamp T&F

So the throwing program has gone in the tank too? I'll be honest, I haven't thought about track outside of Schweizer in a long time, but I thought that at least the throwing program was still pretty elite.

While we had a disappointing end to the Indoor season (5th place in the NCAAs for both squads and arch rival Oregon picks up another national title) Arkansas has been solid in Track and Field over the last few years.
What people tend to forget is that we were pretty average after McDonnell retired for several years. We had to build the program back up to where it is. That means with the right coaches in place and facilities I see no reason why Missouri couldn't have a very good track program. It might take a few years to get there but with the SEC giving you a recruiting foothold in the South and the Missouri access to the Midwest I think you can get the athletes to make it happen.

NEMizzou:
Halter rode the coattails of Christian Cantwell...and has had a couple other good throwers, but we're not a throws powerhouse any longer. It always seems that Halter is "a great coach" because he has one or two top athletes (Karissa this year).
But as a team, we've sucked for some time. To score 3 points, as the men just did, all a team has to do is have one athlete place 6th in one of the many events over the two day meet.
Because T&F is pretty much under the radar, dismal performance is barely noticed...but a coach in any other sport with such horrid results would deserve a Come-to-Jesus meeting...if not a pink slip.

True. There are times when you need your AD to kick someone in the arse.

I would love for you track guys to post more. I'm not much of a track guy but love hearing about the non revenue sports. A non track guy can scroll past easy enough. I'd like it though so I at least have some place to get the news and thoughts

Reedus, I shall try to drop a note now 'n then regarding our lack of a T&F team (or, more optimistically, the success of said-same).
As a washed up sprinter back in the days when timing was by sundial, I only lacked a bit more pigmentation to be really good.

Yeah, it seems we have some guys that follow wrestling really close and are keeping us up to date from time to time. Same with baseball and softball, which I tend to follow a bit with my background. Would love to see some info from time to time. Same for anyone out there that is a swim/dive, golf or soccer, love to see that too. Football and basketball are obviously going to dominate the thread counts but would still love to hear about the other sports too.
