There's still a lack of volume there, but the quality of the top seems to have risen... not sure if that's what you're saying or if you're indicating that the volume is on the rise too?

It is. upcoming group has volume but even so you're sorely underestimating it the past few years. We are getting super-close to La and almost every other SEC state minus GA and FLA (hard to count TX as they're jsut too far away for most of us and wayyy too big). Some pro crootniks have said we've attained parity with them a

And we're starting to produce more than our fair share of blue chippers. BUT the point is we're growing and Hurd's class had a ridiculous number of TN croots and many have been big time contributors (disproportionately so). Obviosuly we don't have the population to surpass GA/FLA or even Tejas. It will take time but things are on the upswing.

Also, we all but invented national recruiting in the SEC and let's be honest anything North of ATL we treat as home (esp higher up), same for AL and SC. Due to out location we are closer to parts of GA, SC, VA, NC, VA, and OH among others. Crootin' closer to home (aside from OL/DL) is still new but TN HS FB is finally churning players out.

Work in progress as I said but we had a ridiculous number in Hurd's class and let's be honest tons of TN players attend HS in GA but even so GA is close to TN for the guys we croot - above mentioned too. And don't fprget guys like Dooley refused to croot TN and even told at least one player from Memphis he disliked/wouldn't croot it when he took the job.

Just sayin. We're slowly but surely getting the status AND the quantity. Won't happen overnight.
